He may look global, but don’t let the look fool you. Let us tell you why.
Though he was born in Spain, Ladislao has been living in Indonesia since 3 years old, in Bali. And the pages kept turning in Indonesia up to this day. Ladis, as he’s called, now can be seen as Travel Addict host on Global TV.
Were all people surprised when they learned that you fluently speak Indonesian? And how long have you been living here?
“I came here when I was only 3 years old, cause my parents wanted to live in Bali in 1995, so we moved there and I started my life there as a local. Though I have this foreign look, I’m a total local that’s for sure.”
How did you start your career?
“So I used to be a football player, and I did football for a living. I went to Spain for doing football and lived there for 4 years, but then I got a torn knee ligament. So then I moved back to Bali for 3 months and not long after that I got some offers from friends to join the entertainment industry. I started first as a runway model, commercial ads, and then I started taking acting class with Eka Sitorus in Sakti Aktor Studio. As for now I’m living in Jakarta for good.”
Since you travel a lot around Indonesia, which city left the best impression in your heart?
“It depends, are we talking about the view or the culture? If we’re talking about views, then it’s Kalimantan for me. Indonesia is such a beautiful country, it still has so many parts that are untouched yet and I love it so much. In terms of which culture that impresses me the most, I gotta say Padang because I went to Padang to learn Indonesian martial arts Silat. I got to know the culture better and ended up falling in love with the city.”
