Our next F Creator was introduced to the entertainment industry by accident, Gege Elisa has been running her career in the showbiz for eight years since. Numerous of movies, soap operas, as well as commercial ads, the 24 year-old actress is living her life. After taking a break for two years, Gege is back on the set.
She just finished her new movie projects this year –- one is adapted from best-seller novel, Bulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu, and the other one is an Indonesian-Korean movie project which will be released next year. And recently with her forever best friend Meiliana Canero, the two established a clothing line Aria.
Working on the industry for so long, can you share us the journey of your career?
“Truth to be told, I had no intention to work in the entertainment industry, more over in the modeling industry. Because I’ve always been an introvert and tomboy–- I can’t event look people in the eyes while having a conversation. I prefer playing games than talking to people. But then one day it just hit me: I needed to step out of my shell. The first job that I landed on was as a model for TV commercial ad.”
How was it? Your first experience?
“I was so stiff on my first attempt (on acting). Also, it was kinda hard to remember the lines. Though as the time goes by, I learned a lot, the directors and fellow actors also help me to better hone my acting skill.”
“I remember I was having a hard time to do a crying scene, but Jihan Fahira and Primus Yustisio guided me well and I was so grateful they helped me back then.”
And the difference now?
“I was a bit ignorant to my surrounding before, but once I started acting, I realized that I had to turn myself in the character. I became more sensitive to other people’s feelings. I’m easily touched now. And that’s one of the positive traits that I get from acting and it affects me so much.”
What do you see in a character before you decide to take the role?
“At the beginning, I couldn’t be picky in terms of choosing the offered roles, because I was only a newbie so I tried as many roles as I had to, just to learn. But now, I also pay attention to the storyline.”
What kind of message that you want to share to your fans from your acting?
“I love my work right now and I’m also grateful to have an opportunity to do acting. Especially during my 2 years of hiatus, I missed being on the set and basically acting most of the time. I want people to see the positivity over the negativity that spreads all over.”
Do you want to try another challenge other than acting?
“I want to try to direct a short movie, because I’m planning to join a cinematography school later on.”
