Ant-Man 3 Will Become The Entrance for Fantastic Four to the MCU?
Saturday, November 9, 2019
Less than a week since Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas were confirmed to be returning to the Ant-Man franchise, theories about the three Marvel superhero films had sprung up.
One of the highlights is that the film Ant-Man 3 will be the perfect entry point for the Fantastic Four to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
This theory was raised by a Reddit account called ak2sup. According to him, the Quantum World that has not been well explored at MCU is the perfect place to introduce the Fantastic Four. Ant-Man 2 introduces this place better. It is possible, Quantum World will be more told in Ant-Man 3 directed by Peyton Reed.
Other than only explaining why Fantastic Four has not been in the MCU so far, the theory also introduces a Marvel villain who can leapfrog the time, which is Kang the Conqueror. With Thanos gone, the MCU needs a new big villain who is able to challenge the MCU superheroes and Kang can become a super genius villain for that. With the MCU nudging the multiverse idea in Spider-Man: Far From Home and the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie next year, Kang clearly fits into the MCU’s future plans without the hassle.
At the San Diego Comic Con some time ago, Marvel Studio president Kevin Feige said he did not have time to discuss Fantastic Four. From this, we know that their introduction at the MCU is crucial. The above theory is very fitting to bring them into the universe.
Last week, Michael Douglas said Ant-Man 3 would begin shooting in early 2021. This made the movie go into Phase 5 of the MCU with the possibility of airing it in 2022 so that it would give plenty of time for this franchise to introduce elements that could lead to the introduction of the Fantastic Four.
