Jakarta Street Chapter is a brand new video content from The F Thing that will discuss in depth about street culture in Jakarta.
Jakarta Street Chapter or JSC also provides information about the development of street culture communities spread in Jakarta. Starting from the artists themselves, their enthusiasts and the culture observers themselves, the elements of street culture will comprehend music, art, sports, streetwear, and events.
The F Thing took the opportunity to become a pioneer in exploring street culture in 4 episodes video, where each episode was hosted by local rapper Upi, commonly known as Tuan Tiga Belas and musician Eros Tjokro.
JSC involved 19 guest stars specially selected to discuss the elements according to their respective fields and backgrounds in each episode. Episode 1 discusses about music and events. Episode 2 discusses about art, sports (basketball and breakdancing), and the vinyl communities. Episode 3 discusses about thrift shops and streetwear. Episode 4 is a summary event of episodes 1, 2 and 3 which going to be held on August 15 in Hatchi, Pondok Indah, and will discuss about The Future of Street Culture in Jakarta.
Episode 1 premiere is uploaded to YouTube The F Thing on August 7 at 19:00. The guest stars for episode 1 are Erik from hip hop group Blakumuh, hip hop duo group Sweet Martabak, Laze, Matter Mos, and Axl Jowono from Swillhouse.
Episode 1 discusses and traces specifically about hip hop music and rap culture in Jakarta and also talks about the history of rap and hip hop in Indonesia. The topics that will be discussed also varied, ranging from local and global scene comparisons, early and present artists, influences and trends, as well as the hip hop event landscape. Episode 2 will be uploaded sequentially each week during August.
