Divided into five big continents, Mother Earth has more than hundreds countries, and each of them own their respective territories. Most of them also have national boundaries from their neighborhood countries. But do you know that some of the state borders have unique traits? Here we compile some of the most unusual state borders below.
Poland – Ukraine
Located in the eastern part of Europe, both of the countries are neighbors. Directly adjacent to Ukraine, the Poland’s state border is on the west side of Poland. And it was decorated with giant fish. So creative!
Belgium – the Netherlands
The Netherlands has around 20% of its area below sea level. And in the southern area, the tulip country is next to Belgium. Funny thing, the state border is only separated by brick with plus (+) sign, also bricks with NL and B written on it. Simple, yet straight-forward, eh?
Spain – Portugal
Being a frenemies in many aspects, these two countries have something in common: beautiful scenery in respective countries. Even their state border is pretty – it’s divided by sea and zipline! Unbelievable!
Slovakia – Austria – Hungary
These three countries has the most unique state borders! Directly bordering on land, their national boundaries happen to be a triangle table with their flags on each side of the countries. Cool!
Argentina – Brazil
Misiones Provinces in Argentina and Paraná state in Brazil have very breathtaking state borders. A very gigantic yet beautiful Iguazu fall separates two exotic countries. It’s amazing!
