Facebook plans to signal its control of Instagram and WhatsApp by adding its name to both apps.
According to USS feed, Facebook is in the process of acquisition to both apps and will change the name of both apps to “Instagram from Facebook” and “Whatsapp from Facebook.” The rebranding process is a major step for Facebook, as it had allowed the apps to operate and be branded independently. The name transition with the additional ‘from Facebook’ to the apps has been a confusion to some, however it lets the users know that the apps have operated under.
The ‘rebranded’ apps have not yet shown on App Store nor Google Play Store, and the further notice about the release date has not yet been confirmed. And as for now, the users are still using the ‘old names’ of the apps.
