How to Handle Your Binge Eating Disorder during Holiday
How do you keep yourself composed even when you’re surrounded by so many mouthwatering food?
Here are some of the tips:
Plan your meals.
Since you have to eat three times satisfying meals a day with snacks, you can plan on what you should be eating within those three times in a day. Plan your meals plans with your nutritionist and therapist, so you can still enjoy your food without getting overloaded at the end of the day.
Practice to Urge Surf.
This is the main key to help your BED, a skill where you need to learn how to hold yourself from the urge of eating—accept the feeling of craving for food without paying attention to it. Practicing yourself with urge surfing will train your brain that you can handle the urge to binge eating without the binge.
This could be very useful during holiday. We mentioned it before that you have to keep your meals to three times a day with some snacks, however the urge to snack often coming through even when you already have some. So what you should do to keep yourself busy from eating is by finding some anti-binge activities, it could be anything that mind-soothing or some self-care activities. The busier you get, the more your mind will fall on something more productive rather than eating your snacks.
