Avoid offering solutions to them because it will make them more like a failure and get even more depressed.
Stop asking them why they are depressed.
Some questions like, ‘why do you want to die?’, ‘what’s wrong with you?’ or even ‘is there anything I can help?’ are putting them in a corner with the answer ‘yes, I’m fine’ while actually they’re not.
