Robert Downey Jr. did something amazing last Tuesday and it mimics one of his big screen characters Tony Stark.
Last Tuesday evening in Las Vegas during the opening keynote for Amazon’s Re:Mars Conference, Downey used his part to announce the launch of a new organization that is committed to using advanced technologies for the good of the environment. The group is called Footprint Coalition and scheduled to be launched officially by April 2020.
The announcement came at the end of his 20-plus minutes speech about artificial intelligence. Even though Downey didn’t share much on how the group would achieve its goals, he did painted AI as a significant technological advancement that gave him hope. This is not the first time he expressed his love and care for AI and other advanced technologies beyond the role of Tony Stark. Together with his wife Susan Downey, they have been producing docu-series about AI on YouTube. With 8 episodes, the hour-long series was first announced a year ago explaining and exploring what AI is capable and the impact it will cause on people’s lives.
