It’s Confirmed, Austin Butler is the Next Elvis Presley

After the intense audition for the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, Luhrman finally released the official announcement that Austin Butler will be the one who takes the honor of the role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will be focusing on Presley’s life, including his ups and downs before making it to the top. The drama in this movie will also be starring Presley’s relationship with his manager. And as for the role, Tom Hanks is set to be playing Colonel Parker–the controlling manager of Presley.
The highly-anticipated biopic movie by Baz Luhrman has created a lot of buzz. Quoted from his statement to Hollywood Reporter, he says “I knew I couldn’t make this film if the casting wasn’t absolutely right, and we searched thoroughly for an actor with the ability to evoke the singular natural movement and vocal qualities of this peerless star.”
“Throughout the casting process, it was an honor for me to encounter such a vast array of talent. I had heard about Austin Butler from his standout role opposite Denzel Washington in The Iceman Cometh on Broadway, and through a journey of extensive screen testing and music and performance workshops, I knew unequivocally that I had found someone who could embody the spirit of one of the world’s most iconic musical figures,” explained Luhrman ns a statement. Beforehand, Luhrman has narrowed his views on some actors for the role, they are: Harry Styles, Anserl Elgort, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Miles Teller, and Austin Butler.
