Juice WRLD is $15M Sued for Plagiarism Allegation

The emo American rapper is reported to have been sued for $15M or around 210 billion rupiah for plagiarism over his track “Lucid Dreams” by the pop punk band, Yellowcard. The band that has disbanded back in 2016 found the similarities between “Lucid Dreams” with their song, “Holly Wood Died.”

According to Billboard, the band claims that the song “Lucid Dreams” has copied their song’s melodic elements without their permission. To support their lawsuit against Juice WRLD, the band provided a chard analysis of both songs, indicating the undeniable similarities between the songs, also a statement by Juice himself that he cites Fall Out Boy’s From Under the Cork Tree as an influence for his song, and that album is happened to be produced by the same person who worked for “Holly Wood Died,” Neil Avron.
