New year, new movies to watch. The year 2020 will be filled with many anticipated movies all year long, and here are some of them that will be released in January.
The Grudge (January 2)
The film is based on the franchise movie, Ju-On that also has been adapted to Netflix. It’s a story about a police officer who is also a newcomer in town. The story begins after she visits a haunted house that’s been grudged by a recent murder. We love a chillin horror movie like this one.
Dracula (January 3, Netflix)
This new take on Dracula will function as an origin story while also telling the story of Dracula’s battles with Van Helsing’s descendant. This version of the Dracula story will be loosely inspired by Bram Stoker’s novel of the same name, with a premise that is both “faithful” and “faith-less” to Stoker’s story according to Gatiss and Moffat.
Weathering With You (January 15)
Weathering With You is Japan’s highest-grossing film of last year. It’s about a story of 16-year-old high-schooler Hodaka Morishima, who runs away from her countryside home to go to Tokyo. The animation is heart-fluttering, and the touch of Japanese Shinto religion that brings the viewers deeper into Japanese culture.
Dolittle (January 17)
It’s a new adaptation follows Dr. John Dolittle played by Robert Downey Jr., it’s a story that tells about what happens after he disappears from the society soon after the passing of her wife. Despite his reluctance to venture from the safety of Dolittle Manor, the doctor ventures in search of a cure to heal the young queen after she mysteriously takes ill.
