Casually entering The F Thing’s studio was the owner of one very fine and soothing voice: Eros Tjokro, who launched another single called “Crazy (Daydreaming)”. This multitalented guy began his career after grabbing the third winner status on vidio.com for a Music Video Contest. Has always been in love with singing, Eros has covered so many songs before officially debuting with “Addicted” in 2017, followed by “Good Times” in 2018.
Currently, he’s bringing a RnB’s taste in the song, a collaboration with NKDV and Petra Sihombing for his dancehall song. “Through Crazy” Eros is telling us the butterflies you feel when you meet the right one.
We see that you’re currently busy promoting your single.
“Yes, I’m emphasizing my promotion on digital platform because, as we can see from this phenomenon, I feel like the digital promotion would show more impacts.”
Last November 2018, you just released ‘Crazy’, share us the preparation of the single?
“The preparation was a hard work. It’s my third single—but also can be considered as my second single created together with a team. It was quite a process to deliver a message in the lyrics.”
Any difference between the last single you’ve released?
“The difference lies in the theme and the songs themselves, to create a good song takes a long preparation. However, since the theme is love and the character that is portrayed in the song doesn’t actually exist, so it was tougher for me as I have to imagine.”
Now let’s retrace to the first single you’ve launched, which is “Addicted”.
““Addicted” is completely an indie song, so it feels like a love letter that I wrote for my crush. Hence, during the production, I felt more relaxed cause I did everything by myself, I focused on myself. I did the music with the producer, we conversed a lot about how we are going to do this, since there was no pressure. So, for me, “Addicted” is something that is completely pure made.”
Who inspires you to do music?
“Mostly my parents, especially my late father. I began singing since I was very little, I always refused when my dad asked me to sing because I was shy and I’m the type of person who can’t be told to do something. But now, I did all of this for my dad.”
Since launching single after single, how do you overcome challenges?
“Acceptance from my closed ones because I got a lot of things to prove to them.”
What is your music genre?
“I grew up with RnB and hip hop, so whichever genre of music, there’s gonna be a touch of RnB in it. I’m presenting my own color, which is Eros Tjokro’s color. I’m also still doing pop because to me, pop is a culture.”
Biggest dream to date?
“I have a few dreams that I think are pretty different from one another. For music, I definitely want to have my own concert, I want to hear people singing to my songs. Collab wise, I would love to sing “My Everything” with Glenn Fredly and “Biar Menjadi Kenangan” with Reza Artamevia. But my first goal for now is recording an album, and it’s currently on process!”
