Rising Stars NIKI, Rich Brian and Joji Hang Out With K-Pop Star iKON

88rising’s Head in the Clouds festival returned to the Los Angeles State Historic Park on Saturday August 17th for a full day of celebrating Asian pop culture.

From R&B artists to rappers to a K-Pop act, representation mattered at Head in the Clouds. The day’s lineup had some of the biggest names in Asian entertainment in different genres, including returning acts like Joji, NIKI and Higher Brothers to the stage, as well as first timers Deb Never, DPR Live and iKON.

Indonesian rapper Rich Brian, who was only 16 when he shook up the scene with viral video “Dat $tick,” has released two albums and left his hometown Jakarta for L.A. Pop singer-songwriter NIKI and emo-tinged, lo-fi musician Deb Never are also in the mix as L.A.-based artists with rapidly growing attention. As iKON, the K-Pop sensation group without a doubt one of the most anticipated performances of the night. They delivered such hype performance with their hit songs such as Love Scenario, Killing Me, Freedom and others. The expectations were high for them as it was the group’s first time performing in L.A. since their debut.

iKON were seen mingling around the venue before the time they got up on stage and took some pictures with Rich Brian, Joji and also NIKI. NIKI is known to be bestfriends with the BLACKPINK member Lisa, who happens to be in the same entertainment agency as the boys. NIKI posted a compilation of photos on her Instagram and included a picture of her with the boys in it. Two of the iKON members, Bobby and Dong Hyuk, also were seen hanging around with Rich Brian and Joji. Could these Asian talented artists perhaps talk about a possible collaboration in the future? How amazing would it be, right iKONICs?
