Take a Peek of Yudeung Namgang Jinju Festival in Korea

The Judeung Namgang Jinju Festival, which is an annual event in Korea, is scheduled to take place from 1st to 13th of October, to be exact in the Namgang River area, South Korea.

The Judeung Namgang Jinju Festival is indeed has been awaited by the public. One of the thing that has been awaited is the famous lamp that illuminates the banks of the Namgang River. Initially, the festival was of the custom of sweeping away lanterns to communicate military orders during the Battle of Jinjuseong Fortress on 5th-10th October 1592.
This year, the event will carry the theme of Water, Fire, Light and Hope. The excitement will be marked by giant floating lanterns. Not only that, there are also fireworks displays and street lantern parades that enliven this festival.
One of the main programs that visitors can participate in is the lantern of hope. After writing a request on a lantern, participants can hang the lantern in a tunnel installation or wash it in the river.

Quoted from the official website of the Korea Tourism Organization, the festival will end with a fireworks display during the closing ceremony, which will take place on October 13, at 20.00 local time. Visitors can take part in this festival for free, but certain activities will incur an onsite participation fee.
