Since their believe is that knitting is an art and also a way of life. Each piece is made by hand creating a unique characteristic and story behind every Knit. We sat with the marketing team from Noir Sur Blanc who’s also currently responsible for the brand, Andrew Tan, to discuss more about the brand.
In your opinion, what fashion trend is currently hype as of now? Will you follow that trend for Noir Sur Blanc one day?
“In my opinion it might not be the same as what other people think. What I feel now is that trends are moving towards vintage styles, true? It’s more 90’s nowadays. Track jackets, white-washed denim jeans, like thrift shop styles. Another thing I saw nowadays is that they’re now more into DIY styles. You see it on social media how people doing tie-dyes for their old clothes, embroideries and things. And yeah, definitely! Along the way we are planning to follow some of this vintage trend, like more cardigans as well.”
What image are you trying to build in the eyes of people when they see Noir Sur Blanc products?
“What I hope to put across to our customers and everyone is that we are not just a normal clothing line. We actually care for the process not only just the design, but also the process how we make things and the quality of our clothes even our after sales. We care of what our costumers think about our clothes, if you’re not happy we will definitely do a refund or exchange and all these kinds of things. Oh, also! Since people always generalize knitwear as hot, I want to clarify that knitwear is just the style of making clothes. It has different thicknesses that you can alter based on the weather. What we do is more tropical style needs. So, it’s thinner and it’s more suitable for this weather you can wear it to the office you can wear it outside as well. There’s no worries about you feeling hot in our clothes at all.”
How about yourself? What kind of fashion style do you wear on a daily basis?
“I go very casual most of the times. I wear t-shirt and jeans and I bring along my sweater or my jacket like my bomber jacket. My most important fashion items are actually so basic. I wear white t-shirts or a black t-shirt, sometimes grey. I literally only have t-shirts and I have many different colors of jeans and definitely beat-up white shoes, those are the must. These are basically my 3 things and you’ll see me in those most of the times.”
