The Must-Watch  Korean Variety Shows List

Let us phrase it right, although you don’t follow K-Pop, you probably watch some Korean dramas or its gold variety. Korean variety shows are some of the most creative, amusing, and entertaining television programs that you can find. They allow their entertainer, such as Korean idols, actors, comedian, to national athlete to showcase different spectrums of their personalities. Even sometimes put them in unpredictable situations that result in hilarity.

Running Man

As one of the famous and longest-running variety shows in Korea, this programs often invite international guest stars. The latest one was Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, and Simon Pegg for their promotion of Mission Impossible Fallout in Seoul.

Infinite Challenge

Known as Korea’s first real variety show, the show has been airing for over a decade. It’s the show that let us watch our fave celebs doing silly and impossible challenges, all for laughs. And same as Running Man, it often brings international guest stars.

2 Days & 1 Night

This show has been running since 2007 and it still brings good laugh for the audience. The cast, alongside the guests, takes on crazy challenges for two days and one night. They play silly games to win supplies and food, and they roast each other in between.

Weekly Idol

If you want to know Korean idols and K-pop groups better, you have to watch this show for your own good. It’s the place for idols to showcase their charms. They play games, display their talents, and dance at twice speed and such. Many idol groups gained new fans from their appearance alone on this show.

Knowing Bros

Celebs who appear in this show will pretend and act as transferred students to a new school. The hosts will play guessing games, and sort of silly activities. And because they’re all ‘new students’, they drop formalities and speak casually to one another, which creates some hilarious situations.

New Journey to the West

Taking the preference from the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, the fix members each take one of the characters from the novel. They basically will go on a 5-days and 4-nights backpacking trip through Asian countries and play various games there.
