The New Cry Smile Emoji Is a Big 2020 Mood

Unicode Consortium has approved the final emoji list for 2020 and 117 new symbols will be rolled out across major platforms later this year.

This year the focus is centered on gender-inclusivity, as well as mood delivering emojis like the Italian hand gesture, the smile cry, the log (if you’re into Twin Peaks), among others.
There are 62 new emoji in 55 new gender and skin tone variants. Now you’ll find a transgender flag emoji and the transgender symbol. The “person in veil” emoji and “person in tuxedo” emoji — which currently only portray a woman and a man respectively — also get a gender-inclusive update.
If you were hankering after the same naughty vibe 2019’s emoji’s gifted, you might be a little disappointed. Some people are highlighting one of the new animal emojis as an option, though, but we’ll let you work out which one for yourself.
Check out the lineup below and keep scrolling to see which ones Twitter is most excited about.
