She once made the headline for her brilliant achievement of winning the second place in the 2019 Tournament of World Scholar’s Cup in the US. With Faya, Letter F also managed to undertake a virtual shoot and also an interview mengenai tren TikTok dan juga koneksi dari TikTok dan fashion.
Where do you think does the TikTok hype come from and why do people enjoy making content from it?
“I personally think the reason why TikTok is so famous is because how it provides endless possibilities. It’s so much more than just a lip-syncing app. People love it because there’s something for everyone there. Whether it’s dance, fitness videos, heartfelt POVs, there’s content for everybody.”
What do you think is the connection between TikTok and fashion?
“The way you dress encapsulate who you are. Just like fashion, TikTok is a platform that allows you to express yourself. There’s a direct relation with your TikTok content, how you dress, and who you are. Think about it, like the way people dress and the content they create will always radiate the same vibes. People who’re up for darker, grunge, edgy style, would probably create very different content as opposed to someone who leans more towards bright vintage outfits.”
What about you? Any specific OOTD to wear before you make your TikTok video?
“I personally have a very versatile taste in fashion. But since I’m not cool enough to pull off most things, I personally dress in a very minimalistic way. I’m very much a girly girl like I love dresses and skirts. In TikTok videos you’ll find that I either dress very lazily, which is only an oversized tee and shorts on, or very feminine with like plaid dresses and a cute cropped cardigan.”
Any TikTok trend that you personally like and don’t like?
“This is a tough question! I really enjoy that one trend where people recreated their old pictures with their family, it’s so wholesome like it makes me happy. I honestly like most TikTok trends, except maybe the ones that tear other people down. Those trends with misogynistic undertones, yeah those leave a bad aftertaste in my mouth.”
