The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place will embrace Mexican cuisines in collaboration with the Embassy of Mexico in Indonesia and Chef Julio Ortega.
Chef Julio mastered the gastronomic cooking style when he studied in the prestigious Colegio Superior de Gastronomia. After graduating in 1997, he made his international debut in Basel, Switzerland and has since been given the opportunity to become an assistant director in Enfurt, Germany to a Culinary Olympics in 2000 and a head chef at Hotel Cortijo la Reina in 2002. Most notably, in 2015 he had the opportunity to travel to Jakarta as an ambassador of Mexican cuisine and share the authentic taste of Mexican dishes.
His return to Jakarta will color the Mexican Week with a sumptuous Sunday brunch on 17th September where he will prepare an array of traditional Mexican specialties within the buffet selection and a pairing dinner on 19th September, Chef Julio Ortega will share a taste of the rich culture and beautiful flavors of Mexico through a modern Mexican set menu.
