“You are what you eat” we often come across that phrase to define how healthy our inside that is developed by the food that we consume, but actually it actually means what it says, because according to research, your diet indeed plays a big role on your feelings.

it’s no reason a secret that sugary treats boost your blood sugar. Sweets are made out of carbohydrates with a high glycemic index which makes the sugar act fast aka sugar rush. It affects immediately but when the effects faded, you’ll get tired and somewhat sluggish. It works like a mood depressant; it gives you a temporary happiness but it will be worn you out in the end.
Dr Felice Jacka from Deakin University says that certain unhealthy food components affect the brain directly on a region called the hippocampus, which involves in mood regulation. For short, processed food gives an impact on the “gut” which in turn affects mood.
Green tea contained an ingredient called theanine that can make those who drink it feels calm and collected, especially when it’s served warm.
Compare to green tea, other drinks that contained a lot amount of sugar can make its drinkers feel anxious and somewhat tense, resulting in the increase of stress level, although the caffeine contained does help to push your nerves to be more alert and less tired. Though consuming too much of it will make you feel headache and unfocused.
MSG or monosodium glutamate is food additive that enhance flavor, it’s derived from the amino acid glutamate, one of the most abundant amino acids in nature. Consuming food that contains highly dose of MSG has caused many to feel headache and flushed skin afterwards. In some more cases even caused people to have bad dreams.
